ANTONIO BAENA GÓMEZ AWARD

The IV International Conference of Brotherhoods and Fraternities will award the Antonio Baena Gómez Award to the best paper presented. As part of the international conference of commemorative events of the Centennial of the Association of Málaga Brotherhoods, with this prize, we hope to foster the submission of scientific works that discuss, broaden, or reveal issues related to the multidisciplinary themes debated in the conference: popular religiosity as a vehicle for evangelization and its expression within the framework of Holy Week. The research topic may encompass any area of knowledge that deals with the central issue of the scientific debates held in the conference sessions.

The award is given in the name of Antonio Beana Gómez, the first president of the Association of Málaga Holy Week Brotherhoods. This Málaga native promoted the creation of the first institution of this nature in Spain and was a true defender of the need for recognition of the Fraternities and Brotherhoods as public service entities and for their evangelizing work.

All authors registered for the conference are eligible for the prize. The works presented on any relevant topic will be evaluated by the conference’s scientific committee. The decision and granting of the award will be done in the last meeting of the IV International Conference of Brotherhoods and Fraternities (Centennial Conference of the Association of Fraternities of Málaga).

The Antonio Baena Gómez Award will consist of the following:

Cash prize (1,000 Euros).

Diploma.

Inclusion in one of the annual publications of the Association of Fraternities (in addition to its publication in the conference’s book of abstracts).
